Understand the situation
Back at Northstar
A routing ticket came from Sales, but Sales is not the only client. Marketing needs eligible demand preserved. Sellers need actionable work. An operator needs a process that does not require daily repair. The buyer needs a coherent response.
Revenue operations (RevOps) connects the processes and definitions across revenue teams. GTM engineering often implements and operates the systems within that work. Titles overlap. A small company may put several responsibilities in one person; a large company may split them across teams.
Taylor can propose a design. She cannot quietly decide what counts as qualified for everyone else. Before people depend on this system, its stakeholders need to agree on the outcome and how to judge it. That’s where I draw the line between an experiment and a system people depend on.
