GTM Josh uses a private internal tool for SEO and keyword research on owned GTM Josh content. The tool helps identify keyword ideas and search demand for guides about GTM engineering, RevOps systems, CRM AI, and AI context layers.

Purpose of the application

The purpose of this application is to generate and review keyword ideas for content planning on gtmjosh.com. It uses the Google Ads API Keyword Planning service to retrieve keyword ideas and keyword metrics, then stores those results in a private report for internal SEO/AEO planning.

Business model

GTM Josh is a personal technical publication site owned and operated by Josh Buchanan. The site publishes guides and notes about GTM engineering, CRM systems, RevOps, and AI implementation patterns.

GTM Josh does not manage advertising for clients, does not provide an ad management platform to third parties, and does not use this tool to advertise websites owned by other companies.

Who can access the tool

The tool is private and used by Josh Buchanan for owned content planning. If a dashboard version is deployed, it will be authentication-protected and limited to Josh Buchanan or explicitly authorized collaborators. Public visitors cannot access the tool.

What the tool does

  • Reads seed keywords and owned GTM Josh URLs from configuration.
  • Calls Google Ads Keyword Planning to generate keyword ideas.
  • Stores keyword text and keyword metrics in a private cache.
  • Scores keyword ideas against GTM Josh content topics.
  • Generates JSON and Markdown reports for internal planning.

What the tool does not do

  • It does not create campaigns.
  • It does not edit, pause, or delete ads.
  • It does not manage ad groups, bids, budgets, creatives, or conversions.
  • It does not provide client advertising services.
  • It does not expose Google Ads data to public users.

Google Ads API services used

The tool uses the Google Ads API for keyword planning only.

The tool may also use language and geo target resource helpers required to request English keyword ideas for the United States.

Data retrieved

The tool retrieves keyword-planning data such as keyword text, average monthly searches, competition level, and top-of-page bid ranges. This data is used only to plan owned GTM Josh content.

Credential storage

Google Ads API credentials are stored in environment variables and are not committed to the public website or repository. Browser pages do not receive Google Ads API credentials.
